Good to hear all went well Kiwi. I see you are now using the coupon system in the carnival. Do you think it's better than paying cash for each ride? We've had it at our RES since 1996 and I think it's okay. Have you got any more onride videos? They're excellent, especially as they have no music acco...

Welcome back Princess! Yes Dad is pretty cool, putting up with my enthusiasm for rides although I suspect he is nearly as obsessed as I am. He leaves upside down rides to me but always does the rest. By the way, Flashdance is now at the RES, replacing Durkin's Claw which was packed up last nig...

Yes we did do a lot in a very short time. What we do is have a walk through and take a look at everything, then retrace our steps and do the rides as we go along. As for my favourite ride experience, it's a tough one. I enjoyed everything I went on. The Breakdance and Wave Swinger are always traditi...

Hello everyone! I’ve just gotten home from a wonderful day at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, a day that was cut short somewhat by rainy weather but it was still good nevertheless. Actually, the rain held off during my riding time in the carnival so I am very grateful for that. :D Well, where do I sta...

Thanks for that Huss. A friend and coleague from the Telegraph took those pics and probably had a great time doing it... Anyway, on the subject of media coverage, you might want to check out Show Radio, Music and Info for Sydney's Easter Show. The station primarily plays country music and broadcasts...

Good on you Princess! :) I would be honoured to go on a couple of rides with you and will see if I can get someone to take me to the RES next weekend. before that though, I'm heading out there tomorrow and am hoping and praying the rain holds off. We've had a bit today and it's quite cold but fairly...

I think you both bring up really interesting points and I reckon you are right in both cases. It would be nice if LPS had more permanent rides and I think this would be possible without causing too much tention amongst local residents. A Cha Cha, Wave Swinger and water ride like Splash Canyon could ...

Yes the sound would be excellent with the photo work you've done. The Ranger is a lot louder than Watkins's model and sounds a lot higher too. Also, when the Ranger stops upside down, the entire motor seems to stop whereas you can still hear it running on the Kamikaze.

Luna Space Park is back!

Hi all,

Just a quick note to let you know the Space Park will be back this year and the rides that will be there are a Wave Swinger of some kind, the Hurricane and Cha Cha. I'm not too sure who owns these rides which will operate from this Friday until the end of the school holidays.

Thanks for that Kiwi; a good ride lineup, especially with the Super Loop, Hurricane, Kamikaze, Explorer etc. I must get over to chek out your Easter Show some time.

Agreed Princess. The Sunshine Coast is fast becoming a very popular destination for sun lovers and it is in need of some more tourist attractions. Also, this park won't be in direct competition with Aussie World as it sounds more waterslide based. The two parks working together will definitely incre...

Sounds excellent! I will try to get down to Homebush before next week to catch some of the atmosphere. I imagine the Rainbow would be on the grounds and would be well on the way to being fully assembled. I'm guessing the same for Taipan and Skymaster Wheel. This Love Express ride, it isn't the one w...

I haven't seen the official lineup but I'm pretty sure Insanity won't be there. Please correct me if I'm wrong! I'm also pretty sure Splash Canyon will be missing again, perhaps because a lot of room will be taken up by the new Skyview Wheel. Incidentally, does anyone know the cost for riding this n...

Olympic Boulevard is a great place for rides and the Kids Carnival has been there every year since Homebush opened in 98. I can't believe the RES has been there that long! I do miss the old Moore Park location as it had a certain atmosphere about it but the carnival at the Homebush location is much ...

I am very excited about the upcoming RES and can hardly wait for it to begin. If it was a regular year, the show would start next Friday but of course we have to wait an extra six days, very difficult for me to take! Anyway, I'm not sure yet what day or days I'll be able to get out there because I'm...

Acording to the website, Taipan was the most popular ride at last year's RES and while it might be boring, there was a never ending queue of people waiting to ride it, at least when I was there! I would much prefer the Crazy Coaster which has two decent drops and can be quite a thrill when it spins ...

I'm quite sure the Flash Dance and Turbo won't be at RES this year which is a pity although you never know; a surprise ride might just get on that attraction list! As I understand it, the ride lineup is confirmed relatively early in the organisation of the Show, as early as September/October but thi...

Ah Pantera, that takes me back to the mid 90's! I'm more into less metal music than that but Pantera used to be one of my faves once upon a time.

Getting back to the topic, I can't wait to ride the Goldmine Coaster, it sounds like an indoors ride doesn't it? I'm quite sure it isn't though.

Because of the date change and the Show coinciding with the school holidays, the opening weekend which will be Easter is probably going to be the most crowded although the entire Show will be pretty full this year. If you don't mind waiting, a good time to go maybe the last two days or so and at nig...
