I didn't even know Noosa had its own show!

Would love a review if you make it down there.

A good choice of ride to get you back into the scene after what sounds like a horrible injury.

Re: RES Giant Slide has a new home

Yes you're probably right. I do hope LPS commission or purchase a few more attractions for the park. I think this can be done without further angering the local residents as there's still quite a bit of space in the main midway area. I can't remember when I last rode that giant slide, definitely bef...

Re: RES Giant Slide has a new home

That slide would've been an excellent purchase for Luna Park Sydney I reckon. Aussieworld takes advantage of good opportunities and are good at recycling classic rides and giving them a second life.

Re: Adelaide Show '11

Has the price rise for Speed just come in for Adelaide or was it $20.00 per ride at Ekka too? I have heard Adelaide is the second most attended show behind Sydney as the locals really embrace it. I was down there a few weeks ago (bad timing) and people were saying how much they were looking forward ...

Re: Where Is "Star Dancer" ride??

I only remember the gondolas were fairly open which is what I like. The enclosed cages like on Skyview are very comfortable but the ride lacks atmosphere.

Great updates guys! I always get excited reading about Extreme and totally can't wait to ride it. I missed my chance in Brisbane last month but will get on it soon. Nice to hear most rides are doing well too. Keep on praying for good weather!

Thanks for that info and I'll definitely be over to NZ soon for Royal Easter. Out of interest, what rides generally appear at Christchurch? I also wonder whether their show went ahead this year following the earthquake.

Re: Videos Of Extreme Speed from any show!

I love the sound of the newer Speed in New Zealand. Goldenway's one is very quiet when standing in front of it and not much noise either when you're on it. It's a dream of mine to visit an NZ show such as Auckland Royal Easter or Christchurch. Perhaps Super Loop would be my first stop.

Re: Ali Baba accident in UK

I guess nothing manmade is ever failsafe. Add to that the enormous stress put on various parts of a ride whilst operating and an accident can easily occur if maintenance isn't kept right up to date. Even when it is, accidents can still happen for no apparent reason. Ali Baba/Rainbow rides would need...

Re: Where Is "Star Dancer" ride??

Yes I remember this ride. It debuted at the 1997 Royal Easter Show, the last to be held at Moore Park along with Chaos and Scorpion. I think it only did one or two additional Sydney Shows and I haven't seen it for years; not surprising with the huge increase in Ferris Wheels going around the country...

Re: Aussie World visit

Parks like Aussieworld demonstrate that smaller parks can be just as successful as mega sized theme parks if well maintained and expanding with a steady stream of family thrill attractions. NSW and Victoria used to have parks like this but unfortunately they all closed. Magic Kingdom and O'neill's A...

Re: Penrith Show 2011

Yes I think you're right. February and March were always my favourite months in NSW! Big shows back when I was a kid were Castle Hill, Blacktown, St. Ives, Luddenham, Gosford, Nowra, Camden, Campbelltown and of course Hawkesbury. While most of these are still running except for Campbelltown, they ar...

Re: Adelaide Show '11

Interesting to see Claw made it on again. Is Adelaide the only capital it does now? Agree with you about the Big Dipper Huss. It's a shame that coaster doesn't travel. I don't think it'd be any harder than galaxy/Taipan to transport would it? I wonder whether it can be hired out for other events at ...

Re: Adelaide Show '11

Can't wait for your videos Huss. Any word on what ride if any is replacing Crazy Coaster? I'm sure the Big Dipper will benefit from its absense. BD is a pretty good coaster with a nice drop and good turns. The last bit of track near the end of the ride needs some oil though as it's a bit noisy.

Re: Newell highway truck crash

No good at all!

I don't know how truck drivers stay awake for long distances, especially on main highways where the scenery can be dull and the trip boring. You have my respect!

I'm glad the driver is on the mend and I'm sure the Crazy Coaster will be fine too.

Re: Penrith Show 2011

I'd forgotten all about this one!

Sunday would've been magic weatherwise out there but a shame the ride line-up is shrinking. I remember when Penrith was a big show. I think it used to be on in early February too.

Thanks as usual for the review TG!

I think Surfs Up is a great family ride and appears to be popular at the RES each year. Yes TG you're right about Sky Raider being a fun factory. It's been ages since I've been in there! There's definitely a tilt on Pavier's attraction list and it's a great old ride too. Can't wait to hear more abou...

Re: Adelaide Show '11

Yes Paviers are an institution around the Central coast and do many local fates as well as a small carnival at the Entrance every year as well as Mingara and other local locations. Their Surfs Up ride often travels with Goldenway and does a much wider area. Pavier's rides are well maintained and the...

Re: One killed, 8 injured on Hurricane in Brazil

Yes the last thing I am thinking of when riding the Hurricane is standing up during the cycle. I remember when Wonderland Sydney was open, anyone who disobeyed the safety advice was kicked out without a word. The car park was full of evectees on Saturday nights and the security guards were kept busy.

Re: One killed, 8 injured on Hurricane in Brazil

I'm amazed six people actually fitted in one car! It's terrible how lives can be snuffed out in the blink of an eye. The Hurricane is usually very safe and not much chance of incidents occurring I'd think. The only incident I can think of in Australia was back in 1999 when a passenger sustained seve...

Re: 2011 Royal Melbourne Show

A pretty good ride line-up if you ask me but like so many, I'd love to see Rainbow, Turbo, Zipper, Hurricane etc back. I assume Speed, Mega Drop etc are heading west. I'm a little surprised Fear didn't make it on despite its history in Sydney. I would've thought O'Neill's would have been very keen t...
