Re: Semaphore Beach NYE Carnival 2009/10

Both of Mahons are original Hrubetz rides, imported many years ago now. I was led to believe the Downdraft ride has a larger deck, with a folding section for travel. I think the tower is still the same height through. From what I was told it was not therefore possible to convert, in my opinion dosn'...

Re: Semaphore Beach NYE Carnival 2009/10

After working on Mahons American built Hurricane's and then watching and studying the Ex Rex Newton Australian built model. While they are the same a few things rack differently, and how it was built is slightly different. They appeared to be very suttle differences you would have to be looking for.

Re: Xmas Carnival

Its a Ferrari built Chance Space Shuttle which was rethemed (as many are) to be a Pirate Ship. I believe it was the only one on a trailer built by Ferrari.

I had heard someone on the other side of Aussie was going to the States looking for Hurricane, I believe they did end up buying one.

Rainbowsend opened a new ride last week. I believe its a Zamperla Disko Coaster, drove past but could see much through the trees.

Great reviews, would any one have any more photos or know the owner of the Dodgem track seen in the distance of one of the photo's over looking the midway. It looks like a Majestic track.

I thought the 40ft Clown game close to the Wheel was Durkings, but I believed many of the other 4 sided 20ft games belonged to the Picketts family? http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/9508/img5625.th.jpg http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/6123/img5811w.th.jpg http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/3526/img...

Re: EKKA 2009

My mate went on the Rock N ROll, he was very impressed. He also rode XXXL, said he enjoyed it. I made the mistake of riding Lauries Breakdance, never again. Too fast and too long for me, must be getting old. However I did enjoy a experience on both of the Fun Houses (very entertaining) and the Haunt...

Re: Last Year to Ride the Ekka Chairlift

Sea World now stops and starts the chair lift for loading / unloading. As seen chairs are in sets of 4, spread out so they stop at either end at the same time

My mate paid $15 in the morning to ride, wasn't too impressed when a hand written sign for $10 was put up later in the day.

Otherwise had a great day.

Re: Liverpool Holiday Carnival

Nottingham UK Maimi's require at least 3 riders to ensure bench is heavier than counterweights. Otherwise in event of power failure, once the hydrualic brakes are released the bench will spring to the top.

Hi, Sorry about the poor quality but I came across this photo in a recent Queensland travel brouchure printed in NZ. Its credits the EKKA Show and from what I can make out it looks like the Turbo, a Paratrooper and Ferris Wheel. But it looks like it is set on grass, were the grounds grass? And any i...

Re: What do you use?

Most of my shots are with my Nokia N95, just easier. But if I'm going somewhere I would normally take my Canon IXUS i Zoom. Then if I want better photos take a Canon EOS 350D, which I have been very pleased with how larger photo's come out.

Waikato Winter Show

Popped in for a quick visit today, horrible weather so not many people about. Bigs rides presented by Larkin's, the Cookie Bear Roadshow out the back and a few bouncers. http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/8171/22052009691.th.jpg http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/6611/22052009692.th.jpg http://img194.im...
