Re: Venture 'Scat' rides

this may interest you... Luna Park Melbourne in 1975 - have a look at the 1:17 mark. Pretty sure this same Scat (minus decorations and in a bland yellow paintjob) re-appeared at the park from 1995-2001 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZLepWm6oGo&feature=related Zamperla, I am pretty sure that th...

Re: 'Ranger' to be replaced

My apologies to all for my mistake. :D I of all people should have realised that it was actually a spaceship hanging out of the moon, since I first brought the link to the backdrop and to the 1902 movie "A Trip To the Moon" to everyones attention!! Oh well..we are all human!! Moon R...

Re: 'Ranger' to be replaced

The Ranger has been added back into the ride lineup list on the LPS website. It appears the backdrop is now much more than just scenery as their has been a name change to "Moon Ranger" . Well, it is an attempt at some semblance of themeing!! It appears it will be up and running for the upc...

Re: 'Ranger' to be replaced

really is a shame that whoever created the cartoon moon, made it look ridiculous, many people will look at it and think... ummm wtf is in its eye! they could have had writing on the backwall.. "RANGER A TRIP TO THE MOON" or something a bit more interesting.... either way, lets hope the ri...

Re: 'Ranger' to be replaced

I like the cartoonish moon with the telescope in the eye - it would be impossible to look any worse than that rainbow?! They could have done a digital print of this image but I'm sure it would've got a few too many 'WTF' comments from riders. lol lol..Exactly Zamperla!! I posted this exact image on...

Re: 'Ranger' to be replaced

There's a bit more to it than that, was reading on parkz that the backdrop hasbeen inspired from a famous French silent movie from 1902 called, "A Trip To the Moon" Must admit I'm not a fan either... Yes that was me. I posted that info about "A Trip to the Moon" on Parkz. I feel...

Re: The FREEFALL Shot and Drop Tower!

Jobius, agree with you there. Maurer Sohne certainly know what they are doing when it comes to compact family coasters. I rode a spinning one at Knotts - a lot of fun. I agree wholeheartedly with you Zamperla. I cant for ther life of me understand why not one Australian park has added a Mauer Sohne...

Re: The FREEFALL Shot and Drop Tower!

Surely it is something that in this day and age, it would be relatively simple to overcome if the park wanted access to more power supply points? Cheers Jobius Simple to do, yes. But would probably be expensive if more power is required for the site. I worked for a company a few years ago that got ...

Re: The FREEFALL Shot and Drop Tower!

You wont see many new rides at adventure world unless they start buying generators, they are close to running out of power, hence removing one ride and replacing it with another. I cant really see them spending huge money on generators and then getting diesel delivered every day. I am not sure that...

Re: The FREEFALL Shot and Drop Tower!

The Freefall is much better in a park like Adventure World than travelling, it makes much more busines sense and its an excellent acquisition by the park. The Turbo Mountain Roller coaster was second hand when it debuted at Sydney's Luna Park in the 1981 incarnation. In its day it was a poor substitu...

Re: Luna Park Xmas Rides

Hmm thats very interesting that they had to crane Mega Drop in for its spot in Maloneys Corner when it was there a couple of years ago. I would have thought that there was enough room to go past Coney Island and then go around near the apartments where there is a dedicated thoroughfare. Very interes...

Re: Luna Park Xmas Rides

Yeah you are right it was Haunted Mansion that was at LPS 2 years ago. Yes I did vist LPS last January( I make an annual visit every Jan with friends) and did indeed see that Pirates Revenge DOES take up a lot of room. However the point I was trying to make that there is still plenty of space for ot...

Re: Luna Park Xmas Rides

Ha just answered my own question!!! On the LPS website it states that the Pirates Revenge Flume ride and the Rocking Tug will appear for the January school holidays. I cant help but feel a little let down by this line up. Whilst the addition of the flume ride was assured after last years success I w...

Re: Suggestions for LPS

say get rid of the WHOLE left side of the park. Function rooms etc. Keep the wild mouse but (: They could fit more rides in there couldnt they? Paulie what you propose will never happen. For starters, running down the left hand side of the park is the Crystal Palace, which has been in the park since...

Re: LPS xmas lineup

Hmm, but doesnt it suck that theres no thrill rides there this Xmas holidays? Am i the only one a bit let down? No Paulie I am also disappointed by this revelation. The lineup is very poor considering previous year's roster. Perhaps the Rockin' Tug and the Flume Ride are not the only rides appearin...

Re: LPS xmas lineup

The reason is because lunapark only cares about money. My guess is that the crazy mouse would be expencive. Its not like luanaprk cares about what people would like to see there. Its al about the rides with high capacity, but then again speed only takes 8 at a time so i dont know. But i still doubt...

Last year at LPS for the Xmas break they had 4 rides. They included The Mega Drop, The Power Surge,,The Haunted Mansion and The Rockin' Tug for the littlies. Plus they also had a additional attraction in the Prisonbreak LIVE walkthru being based there for a period of 3 months. What a fantastic lineu...

Speed won't be al LPS over Xmas So what will TopGunner?? You seem to be privy to certain information, so please share what you know.
