The historic firm of Sartori, manufacturer of attractions for amusement parks, filed for bankruptcy in recent days, and next month will have to appear before the court to review its operating status.

Things have been going badly for some time, workers were layed off since September 2010. The company was founded 50 years ago and had culminated in the 1980's when the entrepreneur Claude Sartori was even kidnapped and held hostage for months in Campania. After the 2000 financial crisis, Sartori tried to overcome the economic downturn by designing Energizer Cobra, a coaster that should have been gaining success in the field, but made bad publicity after an accident took place at Tivoli Friheden in Denmark. The initial part of the train had come off the body and had crashed to the ground before falling backwards, causing serious injuries to four children.

The incident has therefore contributed to the start of the company's decline that could now be permanently closed down.
