Royal Canberra Show 2010 (Photos added)

Post by Top Gunner14 »

The Royal Canberra show starts next weekend and runs from Friday the 26th to Sunday the 28th of February. I'll be heading down again on Wednesday night for the show. Usually a good show and a good lineup. Rides I've heard attending:

Skyview Wheel
XXXL
Power Surge (I think)
Zipper
Music Trip
Cha Cha
No Limit
Thunderbolt

I'd say either Speed or Freestyle will definately be there, if not both. Then I'd say the usuals like Hard Rock, Shockwave, Breakdance, Techno Jump etc. Should be a good few days

Cheers

Sure thing, should be a good few days down there. Wasn't planning on going until last week I decided, glad I'm going now.

Hopefully might get a few vids too

I've just got to say your vids are nothing short of superb Topgunner, especially your No Limit Onride one! I'm going to try to do some of my own at RES this year! No promises they'll turn out any good but I've been wanting to do this for some time and this year could be my big chance!

Am looking forward to your reviews as usual.

Cheers thanks for that Ben, yeh I was really pleased with how well it came out. Only using my camera too so I'm not using an actual video camcorder, still taqkes a good video. My first pick will be an onride of XXXL at Canberra. See what else I can do there too, along with my usual photos.

Yeh see how you go with some videos, would be good to see

Had a good time at the show. Got home last night and now buggered. Had a good lineup down there:

x3 Dodgem Tracks (Blades, Bell's, Small's)
x2 Zippers (Short's and Davis')
x2 Hurricanes (Bell's and Young's)
x2 Speeds (Extreme Speed Machine (Goldenway) and Freestyle (Chant's)
Breakdance
Crazy Coaster
Haunted Hotel
Thunderbolt
Sky Walker
Sky View Wheel
No Limit
Sea Circus
Hard Rock
XXXL
Cha Cha
Music Trip
Techno Jump
Heaps of Kids rides
Heaps og games
Heaps of Food Canteens

Had a good time, got a few videos including onride of Sky Walker and XXXL. Also got an offride of No Limit but it's not the best so might not upload. Also got a heap of photos

Cheers

Thanks for that Topgunner! How did the two identical Speed rides go in the carnival? Which one was more popular? Was there a price war going on?

Can't wait to view your onride videos!

that's an exellent bunch of rides for Canberra. Rides-wise a decade ago, Canberra was a shadow of Melbourne Show, now it is the opposite. There has always been a lot of duplication from what I can remember, but it's a very long area so each section seems to hold its own quite well.

Both Speed's were the same price for the whole show. Chant's were open all of Friday whereas Goldenway opened in the morning then didn't reopen until about 4.30. Chant's were sited at one of the main gates and were going pretty well. Saturday night for both was pretty evenly matched. They both went up against each other last weekend at Maitland too.

Yeh there are the few duplications, they mostly go alright. But was talking to a few workers on Chant's joint and they've been going shocking at the shows. Getting worse and worse for them each year unfortunately

And here they are, sorry about the wait, been busy with school work and sh**. Just doing the photos, no review.
But as I said, had a good few days down at the show, always enjoy Canberra. Had a great lineup of rides this year. Was good to see the Sky View back after its absense last year, it had a good position in the centre of sideshow alley, with the wheel there, Chant's didn't have any of their wheels up to compete. Was also interesting to see both Speeds going up against each other. And was great to see Sky Walker at the show for the first time, stopping in on their way down to Moomba. Anyway here's my photos:

There's my photos, hope you all like them, sorry that was the best photos I got of both No Limit and Speed. Also have onride videos of Sky Walker, XXXL and an offride of XXXL. They'll be put up soon. Was good to see all the showies again, all the owners, workers and operators. Anyway enjoy!

Cheers

Yeh I noticed that too, the crowds were really down which is a shame like you said for a great lineup of rides and the show itself is great too

Yeah great photos and really good lineup. I dont see why alot of shows have two of the same rides now though.. 2 hurricanes, 2 zippers, 2 speeds.. lol.

Here are my vids, hope you all enjoy them. Both Sky Walker and XXXL onrides came out really well, thought there might be more blur because of the speed.

Enjoy!

Awesome Awesome Awesome!

Thanks heaps for the great vids which I really enjoyed listening to. My fave is definitely the onride of XXXL. The ride operator created a really good atmosphere and it sounds like a really fun ride; can't wait to try it!

Thanks again for your hard work!

Good work on the vids. When are you going to do a Zipper one? I've always thought the go would be to tape a camera to the outside of the door.

I'd be willing to try it so long as I could sign a waver saying I'm not responsible if the camera breaks. (LOL)
