Looks like a great show. Thanks for the photos mate. Yeh Thunderbolt is the real crowd pleaser and an old favourite so it doesn't suprise me it was more popular than Chant's Rock N Roll.

Here's my review guys.

When you think of Adelaide, you don't exactly think of the Royal Show, you think of the Barossa Valley, or the place that is more commonly known for it's churches (That are oddly found on many corners of the city).
From our first step onto the bus to the showground, my friends and I could tell that this event was a big deal. Saturday had drawn record crowds of 50,000 people and it was certain by the amount of cars that were banked up either side of the grounds.
The 2009 Royal Adelaide Show definitely exceeded my expectations and for all honesty, it made the Melbourne Show look like a school fete. The grounds were large and spacious with good room for the rides, and other events within the gates. Looking more modern than Melbourne's latest effort at a "redevelopment", this show actually looked like it had been planned properly.
Sideshow Alley was amazing, with almost every ride having a full line, and a full load. The Big Dipper is a highlight, and for $10, it was a good fun looping coaster, it is a shame as to why this doesn't travel to Melbourne or Sydney. XXXL probably didn't have the best spot on the midway but it did hold its own by providing a big punch for thrill seekers wanting to try this new thrill ride. Space Roller was holding up well with some of the new attractions, long lines and with the new signs finally on the ride, it was complete.
Even though the classics were absent from this show, and it does show more than Sydney, some of the older attractions such as Claw and Gravitron performed well. FJF's Sky Flyer was a new favourite, and after two rides, I am a fan aswell. Those days of riding the Wave Swinger I think are over.
Adelaide Show had something that Sydney didn't, and that was atmosphere. It actually felt like a carnival, the layout of the rides, the games, the food, and the people, it felt like you were in a large fairground of amusements. It must be the way everything is set out, unlike Sydney which showcases the same tired look every year. They may have the amazing grounds, but Adelaide definitely won for atmosphere and true enthusiasm for a good time.
So for anyone wondering about making a visit to the 2010 Royal Adelaide Show, do it. Adelaide may not be the "place" to visit, nor may it have any icons like the Harbour Bridge, but it has a great show that needs to be visited at least once in this lifetime.

How many times have you heard me say that Sydney, Hombush is a plastic show, Moore Park was atmosphere on a stick, I am so glad that I got to experience Moore Park as a spectator and a worker, I worked Adelaide, but it did not rate to Moore Park imo.

Fantastic photos and review Huss
