I have been very impressed by the Powersurge travelling Aussie, everyting about it screams ride me. Yet I still havn't ridden one. I didn't think much of the one travelling the UK either, it looked very plan especially when you put it next to your model.

Yeh that's Darren Noble's isn't it, the Red and Black one? Don't like the look of that either

Yeah it was Nobles, use to be Purple and Yellow I think when I saw it. Doesn't have all the extras, lights / signs / backdrop etc.

I happened to be in Auckland last week and managed to pop into Rainbows End for a while on Wednesday afternoon. Overall I was impressed with the park which reminded me of Luna Park Sydney despite the differing selection of rides. It was attracting a fair number of people for the holidays too despite the high price for unlimited rides tickets which seemed to be the only ones available apart from nonrider ones which were NZD$18.00. Luckily for me, I qualified for a more than half price discount so I got some good value.

Pirate Ship

I'm fairly sure it's not a Huss model but please correct me if I'm wrong. It was a good immitation though and I enjoyed it a lot. What makes me think it's a different brand is the sound of the machine, the lower height of the bench seats and the lowering of the safety bar touching the knees which isn't typical of the Huss models. I felt a bit selfconscious riding as everyone else were young kids riding with their parents but I decided to enjoy myself anyway.

Disko Coaster

I really liked this one! It was my first time experiencing it and I definitely prefer it to the standard Disko ride currently travelling Australia. The ride atmosphere would've been made better by some music but still a great time with a good operator and good fellow passengers too.

Corkscrew roller coaster

Although this ride is somewhat similar to the Seaworld ride, it actually reminded me more of Dream World's Cyclone. A nice climb up the hill and through three invertions before coming to a quick stop. I do think Rainbows End could come up with a better name for the ride, something like Triple Treat, Brain Freeze etc. A nice ride nevertheless!

Power Surge

Thrilling and sickening as ever! A fairly nice ride cycle but again, the lack of music really took away the atmosphere for me. A very popular ride with sizable queues although I was lucky.

Enchanted Forest Floom

I'm not really a fan of these type of rides except for Pirates revenge but this one was quite good. I understand it was built in house and completely redone since it was burnt down some time ago. The second drop from the top is pretty good and you get quite wet, no joke in the cool Auckland weather!
Drop Tower

It's nice to see the smaller versions of this ride can still pack a punch! No real atmosphere and if there was a countdown before the drop, I didn't hear it. Still, a great and popular ride!

That was my day, definitely not enough entertainment to fill a whole day but I certainly recommend the park if you're in the Manukau area and looking for something to do.

Thank you Ben, I hope you enjoyed, not only your visit to Rainbows End, but New Zealand.
