Re: What's happening in surfers

Last I saw about 2 weeks ago they were both still there. They are owned by different people than the FlyCoaster so they may not move at all.

Re: New Attraction

I think the flycoaster that Wet n Wild are getting is a new model as it looks bigger than the one in Surfers Paradise. Last I head the Flycoaster, Bungee Tower and ParaNoia were heading to somewhere near kingston park raceway. They are also opening a ZipLine and have opened AquaLoop and a FlowRider ...

I think the Ex Paiver's unit is a Hydraulically driven Sizzler, along with A1 Amusement's Sizzler (One of 2 they own)

Re: 2010 Traralgon Show

Glad to see Taylor's Cha Cha with it's new paint-job finished. Last I saw it was in QLD with the paint-job half done and even then it looked great! as far as that wheel goes... it looks as though it could be Small's ferris wheel. Kamikaze is also looking like it needs a go over with paint or at leas...

Re: New Ride for Luna Park Melbourne

At least they are adding something with the coney island name... I guess. But what was the point replacing Shock Drop with the new drop apart from Moser rides generally being unreliable. I mean it's only a 5m difference!

Exactly, I know it's not impossible... but it''s a more popular choice not to. I also really hope that Rainbow comes back.

Re: Rainbow For Sale

HUSS, unfortunately the Wittingslow days were before I really got into the carnival scene. I never once denied that the Rainbow was a significant attraction for the industry. I can see all your points, but I was also putting my points across in regards to the Ali Baba. Obviously I can't compare it t...

Re: Rainbow For Sale

i have not personally rode the Rainbow, but I have rode the ali baba... I wouldn't go as far to say that it's a boring ride though. However the rainbow does have a nicer look to it than the ali baba. The rainbow looks like something that should be in a theme park, whereas the Ali Baba looks more lik...

Re: Rainbow For Sale

the basic mechanics of the ride are the same, however the way that the gondola on the rainbow is attached to the main boom is different. and correct me if i'm wrong but that was where the failure happened. I'm fairly sure I read somewhere about the height of the rainbow and ali baba being the same. ...

Re: Luna Park holiday rides 2010

yet another person addicted to the rainbow? I know it's a great ride and all... but I seriously doubt that Rainbow would ever be seen on the soil of Luna Park. If it's as noisy as the ranger the residents would chuck yet another stink which i'm sure that Luna Park don't want. Plus why would they nee...

Re: Rainbow For Sale

did you actually stop to think that there might be a reason why the ali baba has replaced the rainbow? it might not have had the adjustments that HUSS have requested done yet, either that or the owner just can't be arsed applying for the ground space anymore or other reasons. hell for all we know th...

Re: Australia's Best Themed (Well once best) Ride shut down!

yeah, warner village or really seems to have gone down the crapper since I last went in 2007. from reading other forums apparently in its final months it was really run down. Fire not working, the vanishing space ship not vanishing to even having the work lights on during normal operation! I find it...

So... replace a freefall ride with another freefall ride? what the hell is the point of that? There are many other rides that luna park should invest in and this is NOT one of them!

Re: What's happening in surfers

It is the Wheel of Perth that has ended up on the roof of the Surfers Paradise Bus Terminal. Has been planned for a few years and was originally going to be the Sea World Eye (60m) but those plans fell through and the Sea World Eye was presumably sent back to Europe and we now have the 50m version t...

As far as i'm aware we don't. Instead we have the Tilt a Whirls which IMO provide a decent enough ride.
