Has it broken down and been removed from site? My daughter went yesterday with some other family members and they said they could not find it.

Re: Moomba Festival 2011

Rode Disk'O last night. Bit of a ZZZZZZZ. My 9yo daughter enjoyed it, but didn't find it all that exciting. Having said that, she rode every major ride and coaster at least twice at DW and WBMW last year (except Giant Drop...we don't do drop rides like that in our family).

Re: Moomba Festival 2011

Hi all, it has been a while since I have been around these parts! Was at Moomba last night taking some pics (mainly fireworks) and I wandered through Alexandra Gardens (but I only skirted around the rides in Birrarung Marr). I was amazed at how awesome the rides look this year. It seems the ride ope...

Anybody seen it in real life or even got some? It looks like it works quite well.

Dont be sorry avp, that is what everyone else has been saying, After last year, I made a decision to not go to the RMS this year...first time I would not go in 25years. Since I started seeing the ads around the place, I started to feel weak...the show is like a drug to me.....but given the comments...

(No list on the website :? ) I noticed the one of the rides listed for Wild Wednesday is 'Colemans Gold Mine Coaster'. Anyone shed some light on what this is...a themed wi...

The old carnival area next to Epsom rd is completly fenced off??? That's going to make for some interesting packaging around the grounds... Edit: the map of the grounds is up....as there are no horses this year, they are using some of the area from last year that the horses were in on the Langs Rd s...

I remember it being at the RMS in the early 90's....it was between the government pavillion and the dog pavillion. I wanted to ride it but none of my friends would go on it with me.

Good work Mattie! It doens't look like a December '06 opening to me though...perhaps a partial opeing?? Overall, I would suggest target completion may be September '07. Do you go to the show for anything other than the rides?

With the dissapointment for me this year that the main arena at the RMS will be without the sound of thundering V8s from the Holden Stormrider utes (due to the small arena due to redevelopment), I was wondering if anything other than the noise and bright lights of the carnival attracts other people ...

oh yes like that time on wittingslows when your car flew off the booms and shot right into the main arena, people thought it was part of the show! :P Did that actually happen in Australia? I know it happened at the Texas State Fair back in the 80's (my parents were in Texas at the time, so they saw...

I wouldn't stress too much about the thing falling apart. From memory of the Zipper, since I haven't seen on up close for a while, it is fairly over engineered structurally, as thing were back then. Even the bolted joints are fairly hefty. Remember, it was originally designed to run at twice the spe...

Funnily enough, AMF Australia was the only branch worldwide that was profitable...and now AMF in North America is seemingly dead. I guess MLT picked up a profitable bargain from the administa...
