Re: FUN FACTORY SOUTH YARRA

I never did get to go to it but have often wondered whose Grav it was they had inside, anyone know? Also what year did it close? Deafshow, is it on a site near a Fantastic Furniture store? Every time I drive past I wonder if that was where it used to be.

Re: Waltzer

I must've seen a Tilt with a roof on it in the 1990's and mistaken it for a Waltz. Tayz surfin' the boards on a Tilt (or Waltzer) is one of the un-official perks of the job - flicking those cars with your hand at just the right time to give unsuspecting riders some serious G's Officially... Nope, ne...

Re: Ranger question

Yeah I remember when the HUSS Ranger was at Luna park Melbourne (1992-1993) was great. I paid for an unlimited ride handstamp, and hardly left the ride my whole day.

Re: Universal Studios Singapore.

agreed, very thorough and easy to read!

Yes you can't beat the way some of those Asian parks are run - plentiful staff, and leading-edge rides by the sound of it. I rode The Mummy ride at Universal Hollywood a couple years ago - was a great dark-ride coaster experience.

Re: chaos ride

I am not 100% if it was Durkin who had it originally, I have a feeling it came from WA, possibly under Crowley within 6 months of Durkins buying it. Yes there were many issues with the first one, it was one of the first off the Chance production line - numerous problems including faulty floor pannel...

Nice vid Dell. Gibbo I'm surprised you thought it was a bit of a yawn. I've ridden it once before in USA and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Moomba Festival 2011

This coming weekend it's all happening in Melbourne with the traditional Labour Day Moomba weekend. Fingers crossed for some better weather this year (it couldn't be worse than last year that's for certain)

Who's going? Who's working it? What rides will be there? Post all comments and photos here

Re: Mad March Fair

Dazzleland - nicely done with the photos you did good (especially getting the nameplate of the Chance Trabant 'Wipeout') From the serial number I can just notice it appears to be a 1971 model. I'm jealous of you seeing it, did you jump on for a ride? Definitely a ride we could do with more of. Hurri...

The electrocution of an employee was not a HUSS (it was a 'fake' Ali-Baba rainbow) unfortunately even industry insiders, are under the impression it happened on a HUSS one. Here's a photo of it.
