Maybe they will bring an Ali Baba in as well, the views over St Kilda with that ride would be amazing :)

Re: Short's Zipper

Where exactly are you getting your information about Speed and Freestyle being smaller / larger than each other. The only difference is the year model. Speed is an older version, and the only difference would be mechanics / newer technology in the rides. Example, Freestyle's motor is louder than Spe...

Re: Cootamundra Show 2012 (pics added )

Glad to see the Shockwave looking in better condition since I last saw it, looks like it's either had a repaint or a damn good wash recently! The Zipper and Tilt is looking good too. Hopefully Flarherty's do up the Octopus soon as it's looking a bit tired though. But it is what... nearly 60 years ol...

As far as I am aware both the Skymaster and Luna Park's Ferris Wheel are the same model (made by Kevin Ferrari in the 80's if I'm not mistaken?)

And a lot of the time you may even end up in a joint for the first time... And honestly, working a joint can be incredibly fun! I spent a good 4 years working a joint and the deck of a ride... and I actually think I sometimes preferred the joint!

Was gonna say, I thought Carnevil and Roller Ghoster were different just because of the lift hill design. Carnevil having the spiral while RG had several levels for it to go up.

Re: Royal Melbourne Show '12

If anyone is going this weekend could you please tell me how much the Taipan will cost and if Rock & Roll is having the 3 for $20 deal. Also why do you think that FreeStyle sometimes charges $20 instead of the advertised $15. Different shows, different prices. Just depends on the crowd really. ...

I can tell you right now that it would be TPA's Super Jump, you can see the hydraulic pistons in the center of the picture and not to mention the car shapes match the ride :)

Re: No Limit at Ekka?

Rent prices being ridiculous at the RNA showgrounds, show not attracting the numbers to make it worthwhile anymore. Especially when it was competing with Extreme Speed AND Insanity. In fact a lot of companies have pulled out of EKKA due to similar reasons. Joylands don't take Power Surge anymore and...

Re: New rides?

I have heard a rumor of a BN Performance Rides Smashing Jump coming to our shores for next year, but not sure how accurate that is. It's pretty much a faster version of the Techno Jump with rotating seats.

What the hell is wrong with people these days?! My thoughts and prayers go out to John Phelan and the staff members involved, this is truly a disgusting thing to happen and hope that they recover (emotionally) soon. Luckily there was no physical injuries though...

Re: Royal Melbourne Show 2012

I can't imagine the showies would be happy with this arrangement. There's nothing I like more than checking out the carnival at night after the fireworks or even while they're on. I think this is a bad thing for Melbourne Show. ...you and most people. That is often when sideshow alley gets its busi...

Loved your review! I noticed the same problem with Hangover at RES and Hawkesbury and it wasn't running long cycles as a result I think but the hang time was unbelievable as usual... Also agree with you about Crazy Coaster, one of my favourites for sure! Yeah...it would be the gearbox on the way ou...

Re: First upside down ride?

I would agree with Ben in saying a Kamikaze type ride is a good first looping ride. My first ever upside down ride was Arkham Asylum (the old lethal weapon) at Movie World followed by Dreamworlds Wipeout. As far as carnival rides my first was Space Roller. But yeah, something like Hangover or maybe ...
