Cheers for the review. Definately agree with you there about Extreme, gives a great ride. Heard the Pirate Funhouse may have been the old Circus Circus, cheers for clearing that up

Re: 2 Carnivals & Ekka
Yes you're right. Until a few years ago Easter carnivals used to run at Merrylands, St. Marys and I am fairly sure there used to be one in the Liverpool area too. Just outside Sydney, there was Gosford, the Entrance and Newcastle Foreshore. These days it's the RES and Sydney family Show and not muc...

Re: Ekka 2012 - Count Down Begins
Yes I agree Ali Baba's are a sh** ride to actually go on. But they're one trailer, easy up and down and are reasonable money earners.
Ofcourse it's safe doing XXXL with no hands, how about challenging yourself when you next ride the Zipper by sitting on your hands while it's going

Re: Ekka 2012 - Count Down Begins
Was just on near-map and the showbag tent is a lot bigger than last year aswell. Shame though with no Taipan with the looks of things. Only new ride looks like Pirate's Adventure, had heard of it but hadn't seen a full photo of it. Looks good but dunno if I was the Ekka organisers put that on over C...

Re: Rockhampton Show
I remember the first few rides to have them years ago now was the Mega Drop and Space Roller. They did sound good then cause they were something new/different etc. Now it's sh** cause everyone has them I know if I'm ever operating anything like the Power Surge at Sydney Show, I'd be spruicking heaps...

Spose with the quick turnaround between shows on the run they ran out of time to build up the ride. Spose they'll finish it during the night

Was an awesome ride back in the day, still good too. I haven't seen it for a few years myself, shame they sold it but definately worth it for them buying Speed. Never knew the ride had a backdrop either, still got those pics Josh?

Yeh could be the reason got some new gear possibly. Both the Wave Rider and Wizard's Flight (Matterhorn and Himilaya) are good family rides. They were both always on most of the capital shows. Suprised to see him selling them

Re: Spotted on the Move
If a showmen has the ground ofcourse they'll put up their own ride. Not all the time they bother about doubles they're there to earn money aswell as the same operator with the same machine. We used to get 3 Zipper's at Hawkesbury, few years ago had 3 Kamikaze type rides. Good to see Midnight Madness...

Re: Info On Our Matterhorns
Like I said was better back in the day, remember when the operator used to say "faster" you'd feel the ride jolt and get faster. Still one of the best rides in the country if you ask me. But yes definately give it a go, if you're willing to travel to Perth, Canberra, Adelaide or Bateman's ...
