Hey HUSS, or anyone heading out to the show with your cameras. Are you able to snap a photo of Space Roller (Day and Night) So we can see just what it's looking like after the recent events with it? I really am looking forward to these reviews. I just wish I could have been there :(

Cheers mate! I really hope the damage isn't too bad... My friend said it was looking rather worn out.

I'm pretty familiar with the ride, and in my opinion, it is looking just as striking as it did when it first debuted (other than the signs) - you have to also keep in mind that Spaceroller appears at a LOT of shows.

How did you go at the RES Kiwi? I'm really interested to hear your perspective on it. I guess it's a larger version of the Auckland event. Speaking of which, I'd like to go to the Auckland Easter Show one day; it does sound good!

Ben I had one of my daughters friends staying here last week from Auckland, he went to Sydney, he thought it was huge, loved the rides, also showbags, which they dont have over there, why I dont know, maybe there is a opening over there for some showbag operators.

Showbags

Post by kiwi »

Someone from Australia brought a selection of Showbags over to Auckland Easter a number of years ago, didn't go very well for them thus they never returned.

Showbags are a real Aussie tradition. Most fairs in the US don't have them either although samples of products can be found everywhere and are usually free or cost very little. Showbags are undoubtedly the most popular thing for kids and are usually the main reason why kids attend shows. Rides are popular too of course but probably not as much as showbags. For some reason I've never been into showbags although I used to get them when I was a kid. I now stay as far away from the showbag hall as possible!

Kiwi, this guy who was visiting us bought two bags to take home, the family guy showbag and a David Hasselhofe bag, lol, maybe they should be reintroduced with some advertising.

Ok, thanx for that info kiwi. Yeh showbags are a long tradition at all aussie show especially the sydney royal and other capital shows. There are so many showbags sold at sydney and the showbag hall is unbeliavable on the easter long weekend, you cant even move and the powerade showbag was sold out by the tuesday/wednesday in the first week of the show

On average, the Royal Easter turns over around 1.5 million showbags - a staggering volume when you think of what the average price of each bag is now days.

A true Australian icon - no other country in the world has them.
