Superb - thanks Topgunner. You've covered pretty much everything I would have wanted to see.

Where exactly were you when you took the photo of the skyview wheel?

Thanks for all the pics and reviews you've done on this showTopgun.
Especially liked seeing the pre show setup pics, really shows how much work goes into transporting and setting up some those rides takes.

Every show they could have it at is a loss, just they can't be bothered to take the machine anywhere, even though Hawkesbury is only 45 mins away from their yard

Best Hawkesbury Show ever
SHANNON TONKIN

The Hawkesbury was a hive of activity last weekend as two huge events welcomed an estimated 65,000 to our district.
The annual Hawkesbury Show attracted a bumper crowd of 55,000 to the Clarendon Showgrounds while around 10,000 boat lovers converged on Windsor to watch the might and power of the Bridge to Bridge race.

With the Hawkesbury turning on heavenly weather all weekend, the Show was heavily patronaged during the three days, leading Hawkesbury District Agricultural Association president Colin Mitchell to hail the show as a roaring success and 'the biggest yet'.

"We estimate the numbers were up five thousand on last year and that's a conservative figure," he said.

"From all sources we've had nothing but positive feedback- the patrons were happy, the Showmen's Guild had huge smiles on their faces all weekend and our stall holders received excellent exposure.

"We found the promotions across each day were very well received, with the Gazette's discount coupons on Friday and The Showbag Warehouses' mountain bike giveaways attracting lots of support.

Mr Mitchell said some of the highlights during the three days were the special RAAF Roulettes display on Friday, the nighttime entertainment schedule culminating in the wonderful fireworks display on Saturday, the re-vamped Animal Nursery, which welcomed a steady stream of families into the Wilkinsons' shed and the live entertainment of The Stage.

Despite a rocky beginning for ATM's show debut, which saw it develop stage fright until Saturday morning, the line-up at the box never seemed to dwindle, allowing show-goers the chance to spend up big.

The action was just as big across town as thousands gathered at Governor Phillip Park for the finish of the annual Bridge to Bridge boat race.

Last year's runner up, Oyster Bay resident Simon McMah, went one better this year, taking out the 110 kilometre race ahead of locals Paul Vella and Darren Greentree.

It is estimated the 92 entrants were watched by a crowd of around 25,000 sprawled along the river's edge from start to finish.
