Rock o Plane

Post by Jaffa23 »

Ok - got sent this link from a friend who knew I was a ride freak...

I'm still laughing at it - completely insane! I have never ridden one of these, but do recall seeing one at the Royal Melbourne Show many years back (somewhere near the old dog pavilion)....

Anyone been on one? I guess that's where Chance got some ideas re: the Zipper......

I hope the link works,,,,if not SORRY!

Here in WA, we have one called the Tumbler - it's owned by a guy who lives maybe 15 minutes away from home =)

Is this ride similar to the Rock-n-Roll? It does sound like it.

It6s a car like the rok n roll but 1 seat that holds 2 facin one way. Theres 8 armes and cars(i think) and it goes around with the cars doing flips. I think there are heaps in america. I've never seen one around b4.

Ben I think you've ridden one before - it is basically a ferris wheel where there is a locking device on a lap bar that when pressed, locks the car. Letting it go at various points causes the car to rock. I've ridden that exact one which is at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. It is a simple ride. I last saw one in Australia about 1991 - it was part of Ashton's Circus from memory. (pretty sure WA has the only one still operating)

That is one crazy video - I've never seen one tumble continually like that, the Op must've started flipping it and the guy in the cage has deliberately kept it flipping with his body movement.

We did have one running on the East Coast back in the 70's/80's called the CALYPSO WHEEL, run by the Watkins.

I did see one at the Dandenong Show but it was packed up on a trailer behind some operating rides - this was in 1998 from memory.

I remember it being at the RMS in the early 90's....it was between the government pavillion and the dog pavillion. I wanted to ride it but none of my friends would go on it with me.

U have 2 "Host" ur photo on imageshack. Then click host (i think) then wait 4 ur pic 2 upload. Once it has, go down 2 the bottom of the page and copy the last link and then paste it between these [img] [/img] 2 icons. And make sure ur BBCode is not ticked.

Cheers
