Just letting everyone know that the pirate at seaworld is now for sale for 130k US, and is no longer opening at the park.

I am really surprised to hear this. You don't hear of parks selling their HUSS Pirates.A poor decision by Seaworld management in my opinion
- asking price is a bit steep too given it is not completely transportable.

Wow... I didn't know it was for SALE. I knew it was down for "extended maintenance" but that was it.

Wow that is interesting. Hopefully it doesn't leave. And yeh, not the best option to sell it either, they are good park rides

I would not hold your breath on Pirate returning at Sea World. The website states: The Pirate Ship is closed until further notice.

Normally when a park says that... it's not coming back. and on the used-rides advert, it states that it was Decomissioned as well.

www.usedrides.com

Search for "Pirate" and it's the 2nd entry down.

Maybe Seaworld could buy Pirates Revenge (old Bountys Revenge from WLS) off Sunway Lagoon.

Also, it would be too high. Sea World has VERY strict height regulations. Hence why the Sea World Eye was removed despite attempts by management to keep the ride. The only ride exempt from the 3 story high rule is the Corkscrew as it was built before the regulations by the Gold Coast City Council came into effect.

Why the height limit? I guess that definately rules out a Manta clone.

ha.

Council regulations... Google "Save Our Spit"

And there is NO way a Manta Clone would fit at Sea World.

That sucks for Seaworld. And yeah. Sarcasm ^ I know seaworld would never get a Flyer.

I don't think Seaworld will get any other flat park rides. Pirate was good, added something different to the animal park. And yeh theres no way Seaworld would buy Sunway's Pirate. I've heard its been going pretty well over there and yeh the height restrictions too

Yeh I watched that video and another just to make sure. Sounds shocking, always happens when the base of the ship makes contact with the tyres when the tyres are speeding up the ship.

Seaworld's PIRATE has been sold to Victorian park 'Funfields' and is set to open late this year... their website www.funfields.com.au has named the ride Blackbeard's Fury, but with a bit of luck they'll keep the PIRATE sign on.
Great news for us to have a permanent Huss Pirate operating in Victoria.

Ahh ok kind of like Jamberoo Action Park south of Sydney. That's what they need, some sort of flat thrill ride like that

I'm told Pirate is now up and running at Fun Fields. I've never been before, but this sounds like a good excuse to visit, a small park like this will get outstanding value from an attraction like this.
