Hmmm..looks like I'll have to try and get there early too,and get the bulk of my riding done before the crowds start to swell (or is Moomba packed from the time it opens till closing?).

Moomba is not consistently packed all weekend - I'd say the busiest days would be Sunday and the Monday public holiday. Weather dependant like anything - and generally gets busier as the day / night goes on.

Well worth attending for the fireworks alone. Seems to be getting more and more popular every year since it lulled a few years back.

I hear movie ticket sales are up 16% since the world 'economic downturn' - I hope the same goes for other forms of entertainment - people are wanting to forget about their woes - what better way to distract than a free inner city festival.

I never thought I'd say this as a Melbournite but after the last few years, I am more looking forward to getting out to Moomba on the weekend than the days leading up to the Royal Melbourne Show.

When the economy has not been good in the past, it is often meant good times for our showmen, people want to go out, have a goodtime, give the kids a ride, so there is definitely something to what you have said Zamperla.

hmmm. It seems all these are the same rides we see at each of the recent Melbourne Shows. Hang Over, Hard Rock, Space Roller, Speed , Waveswinger, Crazy Coaster etc. I guess the only exception is having Mega Drop, Sling Shot, and Insanity there. I will have to try Insanity again. Still is a good solid line up so far... Pleased to see Hard Rock is there. I usually go for the fireworks which are good. Looking forward to it again this year.

It didn't turn up last year. I don't think any more majors will turn up, I couldn't imagaine where they would fit much more in. Both areas are ususally pretty well laid out with rides back to back.

No Ranger? That's probably because of Hang Over. Pleased to hear Breakdance is there.

I assume it's Pinks Crazy Cars?,if so it's a new, very swanky and elaborate dodgem track (well, thats the impression I got from Space Roller Freak's pics from Ballarat).
