Just wondering if anyone knew what sort of qualifications/experience you need to be a show ride engineer -- i.e the guy that maintains, signs off on safety etc?? Does these guys work for the amusement companies or are independent?? There is a reason I'm sorta asking this but I can't really say too much.

To become an engineer, you would have to have a degree, I am not sure if there a number of ways you can do this though, also they are independent, but, in saying that, some work very closely with the showmen. Anyone who does not have the required safety checks, would be absolutely crazy, considering the consequences, death being one of them, not to forget serious injury, huge insurance costs, court costs, jail, nearly or complete financial disaster
