TERRITORIANS won't have time for boredom this week. Racing pigs - and this diving pig - will make sure of that.
Show time started in Katherine yesterday while preparations are under way at Darwin's showground.
The three-day Katherine and District Show began yesterday and executive officer Kathy Smale said the show was bigger and better each year.
Western dancing, fancy dress on horseback, campcraft and circus workshops are a few of many highlights.
"Just come to the show and check it out,'' Mrs Smale said.
The fun will continue in Darwin from Thursday with more than 50,000 people expected to attend the Royal Darwin Show over three days.
Among the attractions, eight South Australian racing pigs and one diving pig (pictured) should impress.
Gates open daily from 9am to 10pm. Entry cost is $17.00 per adult, $10 per child under 14 and children under five are admitted free.
