Was at the park yesterday and it was closed.
Operator said it is being replaced with something new yet 'similar'.

Any guesses?

Interesting. Ranger is still in far too gooder condition to be written off to the scrap yard. Would be great to see it travelling again - still has all its trailers and tyres attached. Someone like Gary O'Neill would have good knowledge on the TLC it needs. Fingers crossed it doesn't get shipped OS.

Ranger has also been removed off the Luna Park Sydney website... I really hope it isn't getting replaced as I found it to be great fun.

It most definitely is going. It was fenced off and it looked like parts were already packed away.

I was their a fortnight ago, ranger didnt look too healthy tbh neither did the mouse.

It was a shame walking around the place. Staff made it feel you were at a funeral and with the ranger closed Mahoney's corner felt very bleak and sad.

Be great if they kept the coaster there and reopened a new river caves ride.

But anyway, back to the ranger. Where is it going and what is coming?

I am dissappointed to see the grand Ranger going from the attraction list, they just don't make rides like they used to. Such a quality ride, though the nearby residents will be glad to see it go. Can someone please post some photos of its current status / removal?

Shame to hear, great ride and it shouldn't be removed. I have heard of another ride that maybe going in (not 100% confirmed) but it's not a similar ride to the Ranger.

Odd to hear it's getting removed though, would definately be one of the staple rides at the park these days

I swear if f**ng RAINBOW goes near that place ill be furious.... also, RANGER needs to get the f*** on the road, and come to melbourne and other capital shows!

Yes Ranger is going! a new ride is going in. and will be in, hopefully in time for spring school holidays. Its an old classic being done up right now. Not letting the cat out of the bag tho. You will all have to do your homework!

can someone just confirm that it definetly is NOT RAINBOW..... surely they wouldn't since of the noise problems, rainbow is a bit louder than ranger

Yes the local residents will be happy about the Ranger going but I wonder whether the new ride will be any quieter? I'll be monitoring this thread closely for any updates and will see what I can find out myself; not much I suspect!

Yeh there is a another ride going in. I think it'll be in before the Spring school holidays though. It is a classic but like ozrides, I ain't saying anything

in for disappointment , i'm hoping its a music trip, just what australia needs another music trip. BTW has everyone forgot about ozrides sydney show video he made up? Empty bottle of beer has more credentials then his previous posts.

So Ranger will be returning to LPS? I imagine it will be moved back onto the midway, probably near the Wild Mouse, Flying Saucer and Tango Train which is probably a better place for it anyway. Am busting to find out what the new restored attraction will be; perhaps a Paratrooper or Wave Swinger? For some reason I don't think it's the Turbo although it'd be ace if it was. Would love to see Insanity go there too!

The " tease" is extreamly boring imo, if you have the information you share it, that is what this site has been about for sometime, what happened to the "Y" generation, instant gratification, I am all for it.
