Sideshow Symbols?

Post by Vee »

Hi All,

I'm doing a logo for a travelling showman client and I'm wondering what you can suggest as symbols of the travelling showman, sideshow or amusement industries?

Examples; Carousel Horse, Ferris Wheel, Laughing Clown

Any suggestions are much appreciated

hi Vee - I think you covered most of them in that opening sentence!

I've always thought Wittinslow's logo was by far the best example. It was strikingly simple. (then again Witts were rumoured to have copied theirs from Conklins, Canada)

Yeh the Wittingslow logo is very symbolic and you know who it is straight away when you see that logo. Remember at Hawkesbury you would see the logo on the top of the arm on the Ranger, now that's no more with it just having that planet or watever painted on there instead

Funny that clowns faces are used a lot as symbols, there are so many people out there who hate clowns. Carousels, Ferris Wheels, they have been used over and over again.

I know that the big dippers get a run, but what about two loops, with a train on the inside, upside down :?: Just one thought.
