Hmm suprised Pavier's Speed got the boot for Chant's Freestyle. And I thought Melbourne wouldn't be able to have all the new rides with the limited room. If your looking for work, Joyland's might need a hand with the flume so if you want their details let me know if your keen.

Yeh that's the way it goes unfortunately. Be interesting to see what goes. So will the Pirate's Revenge be in the main carnival area or by itself somewhere, because I can't see it going in the area they had last year without booting a few rides then having to fit the other newies

From what the website says there will be three carnival locations; the main, family and children carnivals. Pirates Revenge will be in the Family carnival.

Re: Royal Melbourne Show 2009
Great to hear XXXL is going, there was news that it might not be, but it is.
Interesting about a family and thrill area for the rides, could this mean a few more majors... I hope, I hate how the Melb Show is soo small now, it used to be soo amazing with the two areas and the rides on the roofs.

Zipper on the roof was the BEST EVER! does anyone have map showing the 3 areas and how big they are, I couldn't see one on the website.

Re: Royal Melbourne Show 2009
Below is the full ride list at this years show, as confirmed by the show itself.
Crazy Cars, No Limit, Tornado, Power Surge, Pirates Revenge, Hangover, Freestyle, Rockin Roll, Roller Ghoster, F1 Euroslide, Sky Flyer, Breakdance, Hard Rock, XXXL, Techno Jump, Slingshot, Gravitron, Cliff Hanger, Numero Uno Dodgems, Crazy Coaster & Space Roller. I'm guessing that Rockin Roll would be Chants new Matterhorn, which will be good. Also interesting to see Slingshot will be there. What would Tornado be, Bells Round Up?
Cheers,

Re: Royal Melbourne Show 2009
Lol wow I did hear about this but yes that is indeed one classic back at our royals, Bell's Tornado.
Shame also to see that Thunderbolt is getting the boot for Chant's Rock N Roll. Love the Bolt

Interesting to see Bells Tornado amongst the new rides... I bet it will do pretty well. I just wish Bells could get Hurricane on as well. Hmmm ... seems the classics never die

Re: Royal Melbourne Show 2009
Yeah it is a bit weird that a classic will be there with all these new rides. Would the gravitron be Youngs ex TPA unit or would it still be Durkins?

Re: Royal Melbourne Show 2009
It would be nice if Bell's Tornado appeared but I think it's more likely to be another ride under the same name.
There have been a few rides named Tornado over the years, including a rollercoaster that Wittingslow once travelled around which was similar to Melbourne Luna Park's Dragon. (not sure what happened to it)
The mentioned ride could even be this one (Paviers have one I think) http://www.amusementz.com.au/images/pg1.jpg

I'd like to believe Tornado is the new name for the Super Loops we should all be seeing around the traps soon... I doubt it though since the Tornado name really does not work at all for a Super Loops ride.

Perhaps this ride is making a comeback after being AWOL for a few years?

Does anyone know if this Wisdom Tornado is stil in Aus and just one someone's property somewhere or did it get sold back overseas? And who owned this?

Re: Royal Melbourne Show 2009
I would say Bell's is the best example of a Roundup in Australia. If it gets a good spot, it should do quite well - it's been a long time since a capital show has had something this unique. Hopefully this is the start of seeing more classic attractions at our capital shows.

Re: Royal Melbourne Show 2009
Yes Zamperla! I would like to see all the old rides back, Enterprise, Zipper, Turbo, Pirate, Super Loops, Force 10, Orbitor, Hurricane, Taipan, Skymaster Wheel, Trabant, RockOPlane, Music Machine, Tilt-a-Whirl, Python Loop, Mad Mouse, UFO, Ranger....I can keep going which is kind of scary but it goes to show just what we are missing out on now, which is pretty bad. If I go to the RMS this year it would only be for the Tornado, I will check out XXXL but from all reports it is hyped and may not be that good which is the case with most new rides.

Re: Royal Melbourne Show 2009
Shame Zipper doesn't go anymore. Was this all because of the incident a few years back?
