Intamin Half-Pipe Destined for Wet N Wild!
Intamin Half-Pipe Destined for Wet N Wild!
Parts have arrived for the new Half Pipe Roller-Coaster by Intamin.
There is a small photo update on Roller-Coaster.com.au showing some photos of the Half Pipe here:

The Half Pipe is rumored to be called "Surf Rider"
This is very big news as it's the 1st Dry ride in the 20 year history of the park! The Half Pipe isn't the only Intamin ride due to hit Australian shores this year. Dreamworld's Intamin Accelerator is due to open later this year, but there will be a small twist...
Stay tuned for more info.

Probably a standard 30 metre Intamin Half Pipe, like this one built mid-2004 at Six Flags Elitch Gardens:
"Riders are placed in one of two cars on the train which is made to resemble a giant snow / surf board. Each car is a free-spinning circle that holds eight people. The track is essentially a giant, upright U and trains are loaded at the bottom of the U. LIM engines accelerate the train up both sides of the track. A typical ride consists of approximately five to six cycles of the train travelling through the U"
Max Speed: 70km /h
Max G-Force: 4.5
Ride duration: approx 2 min
Height Restrictions: all riders must be over 132cm

this is quite interesting. yea the whole change clothes thing would be very annoying. im sure they would take all of this into consideration. i wonder why they decided to install this? what was the purpose behind it?
Hurricane I am really liking your comment about the new twist with regards to the Dreamworld coaster. Looking forward to hearing more.

obviously seaworld would be better suited for this ride with its small foot print and the theme it really should go there it needs more rides i mean wet n wild only just recently had a massive upgrade and its about time seaworld was upgraded too it really dosent suit wetnwild to have a coaster unless it was a water coaster flume ect is this a step up to try and beat dreamworld to putting up their new coaster? a revenge thing for white water world? hmm verry interesting is this a theme park war? lol

i think were on to something here it dose make sense that wet n wild is trying to get back into the spotlight after dreamworld outdone them with slides that wet n wild dosent have and to draw more coustomers over to wet n wild away from the new water park as every one knows with new parks the first few months are crucial to make an impact and wet n wild putting this roller coster in distracts people from the water park kind of a revenge attack thing will be interesting to see dreamworlds response to this
Very interesting information! I'm quite sure you would have to change clothes to ride the new coaster as it sounds dangerous riding something like that with swimmers and thongs on... Anyway, I reckon it's great Wet-n-Wild have invested in a dry ride, it adds variety and would definitely compell me to visit the place.
